Government side:
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, honorable judges, we firmly believe that primary students should be allowed to bring cell phones. In this case, according to the official explanation, cell phones refer to the phones that could make calls, send texts, take photos, and access the internet, including smart phones and function phones.
Now, we’re going to give out several reasons to support our argument that, first, as students could make calls by the cell phones, they can get in touch with their parents conveniently, or, in some emergent situation they could call others for help.
Second, the cell phones have the function of searching. If students have any problems about learning, they can surf the net, and this, will help improve their ability of independent learning.
Third, at the same time of searching, students could also get information which couldn’t be taught in classes, it can make them more knowledgeable. And, as if the other side rebut that the pupils are still under age and do not have enough self-awareness, they might get negative information, we’ll back to arguing that the school has the responsibility to educate the students and nowadays, several websites has set up the “Age Verification”function to reduce the touch between teenagers and those negative information. So this is just not a problem at all.
Last but not least, here’s now a era of technology, it’s good to expose students to technology.
Based on this, it is justified to allow students to bring cell phones. Thank you.
