Missing Sketches (cartoonist, invite, sugar)

    William is a world-famous cartoonist. One day, he got invited to a competition in New York. William worked out some sketches and he locked them in a safe in his study. Two days before the competition, William found the sketches were missing when he returned from work. He was very upset and he called detective Jack to solve the mystery. Jack looked around the study and he found a half package of sugar near the safe. He asked William: Is this your sugar? William said: I did drink coffee this morning, but it was black coffee, with no sugar. Jack asked: Did anyone else enter the study today? William said: My maid Mary cleans the Study every day. Jack asked Mary: Why did you steal the sketches? Mary said: Forgive me, sir. I did drink coffee in William’s study, but I didn’t steal his sketches. Jack walked around the safe to find more clues. Then he said: I know who the real thief is. It is Jason who only washes dishes every day. William asked: How do you know that? Jack said: I found a smell of soap on the safe. Jason confessed his guilt on hearing this and William got back his sketches.
